Sania Mirza looses to Nadia Petrova

Another fairy-tale story of Sania had a premature ending.Everything was running for sania,her confidence was high after a good demolition of her first round opponent,she was looking very swift between the courts but somehow she again let the chance of making it big in a Slam slip away.

In the first set sania had a break point in one of the earlier games which she could not capitalize and eventualy let the russian break her weak serve easily resulting in the loss of first set.
The story was very similar in the 2nd set,where sania had 2 break points which she could not convert and rather in the subsequent game she was broken on love.In the fag end of the match sania was looking quite dismal with her groundstrokes.

Personally she needs to put more effort on her serve which is very weak,once in the match after firing an ace,she followed it up with two double faults and that in a way cost her the match,because after loosing 3 points in a row,sania was broked and ultimately lost the momentum in the 1st set which carried forward even in the 2nd set.Infact not to forget sania has considerably cut down on her errors,previously she used to hit very hard which resulted the ball being outside the playing area,but one revelation was to be seen that most of her errors were inside the court,like she in search of curbing her power she time and again hit the ball at the net and though she lost many points on that,but in due time she will surely reap the benefits of it.

Her mental state has improved from dismal to satisfactory and not to forget she still needs attention towards that so that in tight matches like these even if she looses she can take positives out of it.She needs to hold herself of questioning the line calls because that only diverts her focus.

When she will find a permanent coach and a trainer,rather then going for short-term stints she needs to realise that todays sports is more about contemporary coaching and training ideas which only a professional can help her with.Though her dad Mr.Imran has always coached her but she needs more technical advise now and its high time before she hires them.

Sania Mirza to face Nadia Petrova in the 2nd round of the Australian Open

India's tennis sensation Sania after her flawless first round performance in the years first Grand Slam tournament of Australian Open will now face the lanky Russian Nadia Petrova who also won her first round match against her fellow countrywomen.

The task is cut out for Mirza but she will be very confident after winning her first official match in nearly Six Months after she was forced to pull-out from the Olympics citing a career-threatening Wrist injury and also made her sit for the latter part of the season.

Sania looked very much in rythm on course her win over the 61st ranked polish and her potent forehand seemed to have gone more stronger and the forceful rest may have done more good for her than bad in terms of her development as a player.She was looking very match-fit,agile and her net play has improved considerably courtesy her doubles play.

The head-to-head record also works in Mirza's favour because till date they have met twice and both have registered a win each,given the fact that Nadia has long been in the top 25 players list.

Sania is Sporting a very Vibrant New Color

Sania was seen sporting a lemonish color top with a sleeveless blackish tee inside and there were some white colored greased design which was present in her skirt and her top.This dress has been designed by the composite ideas of Sania,Adidas and Rucha (Sania's Best frnd),since sania reportedly told a media publication abt her upcoming style staring the Australian Open.

Last sania wore a yellow top in early 2005 for oz open and hyderabad open,she again sported such a color during the birmingham classic and oder tournies during that time..

Sania has won her first official comeback match at this years first Grand Slam.She was slated to play against the 61st ranked Polish player.In the first set sania blazed away and won the set quickly 6-1,the momentum was with the Indian but after winning eight games consecutively and making it 2-0 in the 2nd set,Sania lost way and conceeded 4 straight games to her opponent who is incidentally Sania's oldest friend on the tour but soon sania got her foothold back in the match and made it 4-4.

After fighting back sania dint let go the momentum and won the next game quickly and in the last game Sania had three Match Points to her credit.

Sania will next play the winner of the match between Nadia Petrova and Yaraslova Shvedova.

Sania has teamed up with Vania King (USA) in the Women's Doubles and Mahesh Bhupathi in the mixed Doubles event.
